Company HistorySuperior Ambulance Service began operations on November 3, 1996 with two ambulances, one station and a staff of 10 to serve the Grove City area. The first station was a remodeled office trailer. A new Grove City station was constructed in 1998 at the same location on East Main Street. A second Mercer Station was opened in 1999 to provide quicker response to the outlying areas. In 2004, Superior upgraded its facilities once again: it moved its Grove City station two miles down the road to a larger plot of land, constructing state-of-the-art headquarters with a full communications center, administrative offices, training and education center, a large truck bay for its growing fleet, and comfortable crew quarters for the increasing number of employees. Outfitted with all new technology, Superior Ambulance became poised to provide even better service to the community. In 2010, a small third station was added in Jackson Center, offering quicker response times to the northern areas of its emergency coverage area. Today, Superior Ambulance Service is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as an Advanced Life Support / Mobile Intensive Care Service, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We are proud to serve this community every minute of every day.
