MCI Thank You

posted Feb 27, 2012 2:10 PM by Superior Ambulance

I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all those that assisted in both the Interstate 79 accident in Mercer County and the I 80 accident in Venango County on Saturday February 25, 2012.      Everyone pulled together under extreme conditions and we were able to do what we do……..take care of those in need.      From both incidents;  EMS transported a total of 28 patients by ambulance to various hospitals and another 78  were transported to two different shelters set up for further evaluation & comfort measures.   It is unfortunate that the I 80 accident had 3 fatalities.

Please keep everyone in your thoughts as we move forward !

Superior Ambulance Receives Top Service Awards:

Continuing its tradition of excellence in service and patient care, Superior Ambulance Service has received both the 2011 "Best of Grove City" and 2011 "Best of the Best" Ambulance Service awards for Mercer County!

EMMCO West News: Recognizing Superior Ambulance Services's Jay Metheney!

The 2010 EMMCO West Regional EMS Awards were presented as part of the 2011 Symposium.  As always, nominations were accepted throughout the Region.  It is always such a pleasure to see the number of highly respected practitioners within our Region, which creates a difficult job for the committee that reviews the applications and selects the winners.

The EMS Achievement Award was presented to David "Jay" Metheney.   Jay was described as "one of those providers you want standing beside you on those horrific calls because things will remain calm and he will have your back".  When Jay is not acting as a Field Supervisor for Superior Ambulance, he can be found in the classroom.  Most recently, he has obtained the Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Provider Certification and assisted in developing the Critical Care Transport Team at Superior Ambulance.  When he is not providing care, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.

The Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Tim Crane of Cranesville Volunteer Fire Department.  Tim was described as a" leader that strives for the upmost in excellence in their service".  "He raises the bar while at the same time creating an environment within his service, where the rest of the crew adopts the same philosophy of achievement and quality".  His nominator, who is not affiliated with his service, believes strongly that the success of the organization is in a large part the result of the leadership of Tim Crane.

Congratulations to Jay and Tim, the Achievement and Volunteer of the Year Award winners.

Thank you to all EMS providers!
